2019-2020 Premier League Pick 'Em Rundown

Holy shit guys, the Premier League is back, and with it, your favorite pastime: PICK 'EM!

After two incredibly entertaining races for the top in both contests last season that both saw the good guys win (Man City/yours truly), and the bad guys fall short (Liverpool/all of you), this season is shaping up to be the craziest season yet.

There will be plenty more on the Premier League and the newest Golden Boot winner Moise Kean, but for now I will stick to what I do best: Pick 'Em

So let's get to the rules:

HOW THE GAME WORKS

The Premier League season has 38 weeks, with each of the 20 teams playing each other home and away. Every week each player will pick the score of each game. It's usually 10 games but once the schedule gets really wonky in January/February weeks can consist of anywhere from 7-14 matches, it all comes out in the wash. At the conclusion of the matches each pick will receive a point designation (see below).

POINTS

The points are awarded as follows:

3 POINTS FOR PICKING THE CORRECT OUTCOME

4 POINTS FOR PICKING EXACT RESULT

So: pick a 3-2 game 2-1, 3 points. Pick it 3-2, 4 points. It’s really fucking simple.

Finally, 5 ADDITIONAL POINTS ARE ADDED TO THE PLAYER WITH THE HIGHEST POINT TOTAL OF THE WEEK.

Running total for the season gives us a winner at the end. (Usually me)

TIE-BREAKERS

If any week is tied, whoever got ALL of their picks in first wins. Point is, get them in early. It makes my life easier and you are going to lose anyways.

ENTRY FEE/ END OF SEASON PRIZES

So everyone pays a $30 entry fee.

-$5 to the website: (at a little over $200 a year the contribution is appreciated...I'm a teacher)

-$25 will go to the end of the season pool.

Assuming there are about 10 players:

- Keep the website operating by helping everyone pitching in

- Win $250 bucks at the end of the season.

Finally, you can't put a price tag on the chance to mercilessly mock Chase!

HOW TO MAKE YOUR PICKS/ SEE YOUR SCORES

Go to www.theschoolofsoccer.net, click on the button in the middle of the screen :

That will shoot you to the PICK EM PAGE, just enter your scores and you are done.

It is always GREATLY appreciated when picks are entered the day before so that I can put together the score sheet and have it ready to send out to everyone.

Once I DO have everyone's picks I will send out the sheet to everyone via text and will also try and post it on the front page of the website.

Once the week is over I will update the scoreboard and post the full pick sheet in the PICKS ARCHIVE page so you can go back and ask yourself why you really picked Sheffield United to pick up points at the Etihad.
